Older dogs don't provoke the same
love and care from the owner, unlike puppies and kittens.
It is just a fact of life.
Be Kind To Older Pets
Meibomium gland tumours of the eyelids are quite common in older
dogs. Consult your vet when your pet has eye tumours as small
ones are easier to excise and much cheaper too!

Tearing every day due to growing tumour irritating the eye. Eye

Large globular 5-mm tumour inside the conjunctiva as well as various
small ones on the eyelid margin.

Lateral canthus incision opens up more skin. This enables eyelid

The dog survives
the anaesthesia and does not suffer from rubbing and
eye tearing after the operation. I am happy for the
dog as he can live the last 3-5 years of his life
free from eyelid pain. So is the owner as she does
not need to clean the left eye anymore.
In general, I note that the younger generation of
Singaporeans are much more kinder to the old pets
than my baby-boomer generation.
