The dog had an
oro-nasal fistula and the
carnaissal tooth had been
extracted by Vet 1. For some
reasons, Vet 1 had not
cleaned up the fistula wound
after extraction of the
infected tooth.
The owner tried to clean up
the wound but the dog bit
her. Therefore, this wound
could not heal normally due
to the presence of a sticky
bloody discharge. Sedation was
needed. I gave domitor +
ketamine IV and there was no
vomiting.
The infected facial area
Sedate the
dog
Large hole through the cheek
bone at Day 3. The infected
tooth had been extracted but
Vet 1 had not cleaned up the
facial wound during surgery
The dog would feel better
after cleaning his facial
wound which will heal. No more complaint after this cleaning
Case 2: An old Dalmatian
with bad breath
Old dogs may die
under anaesthesia compared to
younger dogs as their hearts may
not be normal. Therefore 2-yearly
dental scaling and brushing of the
teeth daily will have prevented
bad breath and tooth decay
