Apr 22, 2005. As short a cut as possible in Caesarean sections.
This is what the owner wants. |
226.
Apr 22, 2005. >65th day, the breeder has to decide whether
elective Caesarean delivery will be best. This comes from
experience of puppy losses. |

Apr 22, 2005. Singaporeans don't usually buy Chihuahuas with a
deformed ear. Pedigreed Chihuahua, 6 weeks old, was born
with a left deformed ear. If the right ear has a similar shape, it
may find a good home.

Apr 20, 2005. Uterine inertia, 71st day. If Caesarean is delayed
for a few more days, pups will die. Breeder had shampoo in
his car! Vet said the dam needed to be bathed as its face was
terribly dirty. How could she nurse the pups comfortably if she
was not clean? |

Apr 18, 2005. Caesarean was within 1 hour, yet the 5th puppy
was not breathing well. It was hard to extricate from deep
inside the womb and had breathed in amniotic fluid. The best way
to deal with this is to suck out the fluid, if you know how. |

Apr 18, 2005. 58th day. Wasted too much time pulling out
stuck large pup instead of Caesarean. Water bag had dead puppy -
body bluish tinged. 2nd stilborn was large but probably drowned in
amniotic fluid. 1/4 alive. |

Apr 17, 2005. The rounder the head, the better the quality
for Chihuahua lovers. No. 1 is the middle pup. A pleasure
for the Caesarean vet to see them well cared for 6 weeks later.

Mar 4, 2005. A keen observation of dystocia by a top breeder
saved all 3 Chihuahua pups. |

Legs very heavy on seeing the vet. Had to be pulled out of
the kennel for vet to check. No facial paralysis or wound
breakdown. Well cared for by the breeder.

Glass walls make a very small operating room a more pleasant
place, less claustrophobic area to perform surgery. |
|
|
217.
Will the surgery be successful or will there be a big hole in the
face? A paralysed left lip and drooping eyelid may be the result
of this surgery. |
216.
Veterinary Surgery. Which is the best way to stitch up a large
circular defect? |
|
|
215.
If the surgery goes right, everybody is happy. There are many
risks in tackling this type of surgery where there is not much
skin to cover the large circular gap. |
214.
I prefer not to suggest surgery for this dog when I saw her. The
breeder requested the dog to be operated. |
